We began working with dogs as dog rescuers with The Puppy Coalition trying to save as many dogs as we possibly could. We rescued dogs from city and county shelters across southern California starting back in 2008. Shelter dogs that have gone through the experience of being surrendered to municipal shelters or brought in as strays by Animal Control endure many frightening aspects of these incarcerations. In these noisy spartan settings where they are treated bruskly and insensitively usually develop behavioral problems. Our challenges were to psychologically rehabilitate these rescued dogs to find them “furever” homes so they would make problem-free pets. Over many years, we became proficient at behavioral change in dogs. Following our rescue work, we started Trilogy Dog Training and Rehabilitation where we applied our experience in successfully rehabilitating seriously troubled and bad-behaving dogs.
